Crack on my iPhone 8 happened out of nowhere

I have an iPhone 8 and I’ve never had issues with this phone. I’ve always had it in a case. I was just browsing on my phone and I noticed a crack, like the screen split in half. There is yellowing around the crack on one side. I have no idea how this could have happened as I haven’t dropped it. It literally happened out of nowhere. I’m really confused and ****** off. Apple’s revenge for holding onto my phone so long? lol
