Which cable to connect MacBook Air M2 to tv (image and sound)?

I used to have a Thunderbolt 2 to HDMI cable for connecting the tv to my old MacBook Air (2015) and it worked great - Which cable can I use with my new MacBook Air M2 (2022)? HDMI to HDMI through a USB hub? I've read that in most cases the sound gets lost... Is 'Mirroring' the only option? Thanks in advance!

There are a couple of approaches:

  1. USB-C to HDMI 4K/ 60hz adapter and a HDMI 2.1 48 GHz 4K HDMI cable. ($80)
  2. USB-C to HDMI 2.1 48GHz 4K cable ($ 40)

I would run choice 2 directly from your M2 Air into the appropriate TV HDMI port. Sound and Video without any filtering by your hub.
