Headset mic's don't work on Macbook Pro - Monterey

I have a Logitech USB headset and a Jabra link 370 headset, neither of which the microphone (on the headsets) work when used with my MacBook Pro M1 (2020) running Monterey 12.2. Weirdly, the built-in internal MacBook pro Mic works and this is the microphone that's picked up whenever I plug in my headset i.e. it never picks up the headset mic.

I have tried changing the settings, when I choose the headset for the microphone there is no sound shown on the 'sound bars, it's as if they're permanently muted'.

The Logitech headset is a cable to a USB-A/Thunderbolt port and the Jabra Link headset is wireless which I use via Bluetooth. Both headsets work perfectly on other devices.

I have had the MacBook for over a year but only just recently noticed that the headset mic's were not being used and it was actually picking up the internal Mac mic each time I made a call. I've tried testing on Zoom, Skype and other comms but I cannot get the headset mics to work.

I suspect that the mic issue has been like this since I bought the MacBook over a year ago.

Any suggestions, greatly appreciated.
