I tried to open WD Passport Drive to retrieve one of my file on the drive but computer isn't recognizing my external Drive. Is the anyway I can get my Mac Book Pro to recognize the drive. All my files are stored on the drive. ???

What file system is being used on this external drive? If you are using WD's proprietary software to manage the external drive, then make sure the WD software is up to date.
Has this drive ever worked on this particular Mac before? If so, then what has recently changed?
Try disconnecting all other external devices in case one of them is causing a problem. Try connecting the WD drive directly to the computer as well.
FYI, you should have a backup of all important & unique data on any external media (including the cloud) because things can & will eventually fail.
