iPad stuck VPN says “connecting” for long period and I can’t connect to my WiFi

Remove the VPN and try again. There are only 2 reasons for using a VPN:

• Accessing business networks of an employer.
• Getting outside access to the internet in a restricted country

Some are being marketed to improve security, but you need to realize that you are giving all of your data to the VPN company you are using. That is just the way it works. Some companies, usually the free ones, will sell your data to advertisers and also impede normal network traffic.
