Apple fitness is not connecting to my apple watch nor iphone

This is driving me a bit bonkers, as I've tried all of the solutions I've seen online. Apple Fitness on my AppleTV will not connect with my Apple Watch, nor will it even connect with my iPhone.

• When I load up the Fitness app on the TV (I don't receive a menu on users or which watch I'm using - I've alternated smoothly between a Series 2 and Series 8 in the past, and it would allow me to select)
• It goes directly to the Ways to Connect menu (asking that I open the workout app on my watch or phone).
  • When I open the workout app on my watch, a 'Connect' loads up and when I click it nothing happens
  • When I open the workout app on my iPhone and connect, it goes to a "Connecting to your iPhone" menu, but nothing happens until it times out.
• I've done multiple resets on all devices
• I've tried fully closing the Fitness app and re-opening it.
• Everything is on the same wifi network, Bluetooth is enabled on all devices
• My iPhone connects fine as a remote and as a device to my AppleTV
• My Apple Watch (Series 8) connects fine with my iPhone and works well with directly using Apple Fitness on my iPad
• My AppleTV shows up synchronized on the Home app
• The AppleTV has a room that it's assigned to
• My iCloud is fully logged in with no error notifications on my AppleTV
• All of my devices are on the latest versions
• Apple Fitness used to work fine when I was a subscriber 6 months ago, but for some reason, now it no longer works.

The problem seems to be the AppleTV or the Fitness app itself. As far as I can tell, everything else is working as intended. It looks like I can't delete the app and re-download it as it's a core app on the TV. I'm really hoping I don't need to fully factory reset any devices. It's disappointing being subscribed to a service I can't use and the amount it's already taken in troubleshooting.
