Why is my iPhone not showing Airplay button? The ATV is connected to internet via HDMI, not wifi. is this the problem?

you can't connect to the internet using hdmi, hdmi is a way to send display and audio signals to a tv, not a way to connect to the internet
you need to connect your appletv box to a wifi router or a wired ethernet router using the ethernet cable
