Changing US international keyboard to US keyboard (iPad Magic Keyboard)

I just bought a Magic Keyboard for iPad in the US international layout. It is slightly different from the regular US keyboard. There’s one issue that has been bothering me (as I also write in Portuguese) that the key on the top left corner is a §/± instead of a `/~. Because of that, I’m constantly mistyping in Portuguese. I haven’t been able to change the key, even though I put the hardware keyboard as US. Does anyone know a fix for this? I really didn’t want to buy another Magic Keyboard because of a single key… Thank you!

iPad Pro, iPadOS 17

There is so far no way to customize hardware keyboard layouts in iOS. You can ask Apple to add that feature via

For typing Portuguese, have you tried press and hold on the vowels? You may get a popup menu where you can choose the accented version. Another way to type Option n and then the vowel.
