Pages Document: Instability of Screen Shots & Text

Help: I'm failing at creating simple pages document that include class notes and screen shots made during online slideshows. Pages insertion of screen shots & notes jump all over the place. Do I really have to "add a page" to a document to work continuously on a document? I'm used to word in that respect. Especially, frustrated when I "add a page" images and text disappear to another page and the reformatting begins?

Can someone please instruct me how to do this correctly so I can get on with learning vs. formatting class notes?? Thanks so very much:)
