Restoring Mail from Time Machine backup

After restoring Mail from a Time Machine backup my numerous file folders under "on my Mac" no longer appear. There is one folder entitled Import. How do I get my mailboxes back. Thanks

How to retrieve missing emails from Time machine back up in macbook air? Hello, my hotmail account was blocked & needed to delete mails to empty space but that simultaneously deleted hotmail downloaded e.mails to my apple mail. I have time machine back up to an external hard disc but I did not see where are mails in this drive. Anyone please advise how to restore bulk missing e.mails from time machine back up, thank you?
