PDF "Open In" options from Files app on iPadOS not listing forScore app anymore

I use the forScore app to read music, almost always in PDF format. I'll often be at a rehearsal and someone will Airdrop me a pdf, which opens in Files automatically. From Files, I used to have an option in the top right corner to "Open in forScore", but now it says "Open in Books".

I tried going to the Share dropdown, where I could usually scroll and find the app I need - forScore wasn't there anymore either. So I went to the "..." More option, but forScore was no longer listed as one of the apps I could use. Selected the "edit" option and it still wasn't there. How do I get it back? Again, I used to open things in forScore flawlessly from Files, I no longer can. I am aware that I can use the forScore app to import it from Files, but that takes more time - I'd rather be able to do it directly from Files where the Airdrop opens (like I did many times before).

I've restarted my iPad already, I would rather not delete forScore and reinstall as my pdf library is massive and I play shows using it pretty regularly - I don't want to risk losing my setlists or custom arrangements.

Thanks for any help this community can offer!

Given the troubleshooting steps you've already taken, it seems like forScore might have been inadvertently removed from the list of apps that can open PDF files. Here are a few additional steps you can try:

1. Check for Updates: Make sure both your iPadOS and forScore app are up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues.

2. Reinstall forScore: While you're understandably hesitant to do this due to your extensive library, consider making a backup of your forScore data using iCloud or another method before uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

3. Contact forScore Support: Reach out to forScore's support team for assistance. They may be aware of any recent changes or issues related to opening PDFs from the Files app.

4. Reset App Preferences: In the iPad Settings app, navigate to General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will reset all settings on your iPad, including app preferences. Note that this won't delete any data, but you may need to reconfigure some settings afterward.

5. Explore Alternate Methods: While importing PDFs from the forScore app itself may take more time, it could serve as a temporary workaround until you can resolve the issue with opening files directly from the Files app.

If none of these steps help, it may be worth contacting Apple Support for further assistance, as there could be an underlying issue with iPadOS.

I'm having this problem on my iPhone - now it's hugely inconvenient to get PDFs into ForScore. I can't figure out how to change this setting since I updated to iOS 17. I don't even see the "Open in" options when my phone gets Airdropped a PDF. I haven't updated my iPad OS, and I won't until I know this problem is solved - 95% of what I use my iPad for is reading music on ForScore. What used to take one step now takes like 7 or 8 steps.
