I specifically purchased my Apple Watch 9 for the blood oxygen level reader

I specifically purchased my Apple Watch 9 for the blood oxygen level reader,( purchased December 1st 2023). WTF am I out of luck ($$)? I have lung problems and the watch was helping me, regulate my O2 intake. Is there anything I can do? Return / Refund??

You have a great misunderstanding. Only series 9 watches purchased on or after 1/18/2024 have the feature disabled. Any series 9 watch purchased before that date will continue to have O2 readings work. Since you purchased your series 9 watch on 12/1/2023 its O2 function remains perfectly usable. It will NOT be disabled.

This is easy to determine. Apple Watch with Blood Oximetry has a model number/part number ending in LL/A. If the model number/part number ends in LW/A, it does not have Blood Oximetry. You can check the model number of your Watch by following this path,

iPhone > Watch app > My Watch (lower left corner) > General > About > Model Number > ???

Apple Watch has never measured blood pressure. I use a BP cuff made by Withings and it pairs with my iPhone over Bluetooth. The data from the cuff syncs with Apple Health app. Multiple family members can also use it, unlike a Watch.

The Blood Oxygen measurement is a little problematic because of a recent patient infringement ruling by a federal judge. The ruling currently only affects Apple Watches sold in the US after January 18, 2024.
