iOS 17 counts all past Books purchases (that are deleted) in your Documents and Data storage

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature to encourage people to buy a new larger phone, iOS 17 counts all past Books purchases (that are deleted) in your Documents and Data storage. There seems to be no way to remove this from the space that is used on your phone. Signing out of your Apple ID will continue to store the old/deleted book purchases. Been on the phone with apple for 8 hours today with lots of destructive attempts that went no where.

I'm on 17.2.1

So, wondering if other's are experiencing this and if anyone has had a breakthrough with removing this useless data from their device.

I'd suggest not upgrading from iOS 16 if you hadn't.
