Inflated repair costs and tech obsolescence

How does Apple justify charging $445 for a screen replacement on an iPad 7th gen, yet I can buy a new 9th gen from Officeworks for $447?


You don’t get to market yourself as environmentally aware while at the same time charging so much for servicing that you deter people from repairing their devices.


There’s nothing wrong with my iPad besides a cracked screen and ditching it for a new one is irresponsible when you consider the environmental and human costs involved in producing an iPad, as well as the ongoing environmental impacts once it’s discarded.
