Uninstall Trouble

I am currently trying to uninstall an app on my MacBook but every time I try to move it to the trash a message pops up saying: "The item can't be moved to the Trash because it's open." And I have checked multiple times and it is not open. I've restarted my computer, I have force quit it, but the message simply will not go away. Is there anything I am missing? Or is there any alternative way to uninstall an app?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.1

What app are you trying to remove? Some apps require you to run the app's uninstaller to remove it from the system since some apps will install pieces into the bowels of macOS and will be running all the time. Usually if you ran an installer to place the app onto the Mac, it requires running the uninstaller to completely remove it.

Check with the app's developer for the correct way of uninstalling a particular app.
