Moving an iMac from the UK to the US
Will my 2017 UK iMac work in the US? If so, is it best to get a new power cord, or will an adapter suffice? Thank you.

A plug adapter should suffice although a new US cord would be neater. Almost all Apple products have auto-switching power supplies.
Your UK keyboard layout may be slight different from a US layout but it should still function well. Some parts of this article are applicable:

Yes! You can use an adapter, but I suggest replacing the UK cord with a US power cord.

I think it will work. My U.S. purchased Macs have worked fine when I was in the U.K. I simply used a power adaptor, and you can too if you bring your U.K. Mac here. Getting a new power supply is another option but not required. By the way, we have had visitors from the U.K. here and their Macs and PCs worked fine with the adaptors.
Thanks! I’m assuming I won’t have any trouble getting a new power cord, as I’ll be in NYC, which has at least four big Apple stores. Good point about the keyboard, but I’ve been using it for years, living in the UK & writing in US English!
If you feel like you need a new keyboard, don't buy it directly from Apple. You can order one from www.macsales.com when you get in the USA. You can buy an Apple keyboard (new or used) or a third party keyboard. You can save some money there and have a broader choice of selections rather than an Apple Store. Macsales.com is a very trusted vendor that specializes in Macs and offers a wide variety of products and also has terrific support.
You’re welcome.
