Why can’t Siri mute Phone

Ever since the days of a mute switch, you could only manually mute your device and unmute. However with the 15 Pro Max, the mute option is technically a software feature as the button can be customized to any command. The question now is why can’t Siri just mute and unmute the device? Such a no brainer. Muting your device isn’t the same as telling Siri to turn on DoNotDisturb. I could be on my bed and wish to just mute my device at a distance. Thanks
