I dont have apple maps installed yet the app is using nearly 2GB of precious storage on my iphone 12. How do I remove? Ive tried reinstalling, deleting and restarting all to no avail. Please help!

If you have an iPhone with iOS 17, as the original poster in this thread does, you definitely have that option.
You can also open Maps, tap on your icon in the bottom right corner, then Offline Maps and swipe each map right to left and tap delete.
I’ve done that and the data is still there. 5GB for an app I don’t use is insane.
Have you tried the solution I suggested above?

I have the same issue, tried everything here (deleting, reinstalling) I have no offline maps as I've never even used the app and still have 8.04GB used.
I have the same issue, i dont even have the app let alone using it regularly. And yet the app is taking up 6GB of storage im so confused and annoyed.
i DO NOT have this option on my phone and its already on the latest iOS version.
in my iphone maps consuming 9.91gb data without installed the maps application
mine is taking up 31.4GB this is ridiculous
At this point, I'm so fed up with the lack of support from Apple, how things don't work like they say they should, that my next phone will be a Samsung.
