How do I delete Apple maps documents and data

I’m not trying to back up and factory reset my phone I also do not have the “optimize storage” option you posted about unfortunately

Because it is an issue on YOUR IPHONE, not the other 1 billion+ iPhones. Yes, there is something wrong with your iPhone, but to fit you need to engage with Apple support, or troubleshoot yourself as suggested in this thread by other users. Restoring you iPhone to factory settings, then restoring a backup will probably resolve it.

Regardless, refusing to use the simplest solution to a problem and instead continue to complain about it seems a bit silly.

This is a user-to-user forum; Apple doesn’t respond here. But there are 4 pages of replies in this thread, many of which explain how other users have resolved it, so I suggest reading the other messages in the thread you just added to.

If Lawrence's solution is not working, the other solution would be to tap "Reinstall App" (in your screenshot) to get the app installed again on your device. Then, on the Home Screen, long-press Maps, tap "Remove App" and then ""Delete App."

This will delete the app and its associated data. Then you coud choose to reinstall a "fresh" version of Maps by downloading it from the App Store: App Store - Maps.

You can "suspect" all you want. Or, you can read Apple's privacy policy:

My next phone will not be an apple phone.

Then I guess you DON'T really care about privacy!

For me too.. it is taking approx 10GB storage for useless app.

Jan 21, 2024 — Open Maps; Tap on Offline Maps; Under Downloaded, tap on each entry and swipe right to left, then tap Delete.

I’ve come across this thread as I have nearly 9gb of data taken up by Maps Documents and Data.

I read Lawrence suggestion but I don’t seem to have the optimise storage solution in my Map settings!!!

I’ve managed to update my iPhone to 17.7 yesterday but still nothing showing.

Please help!!!
