'Disk not properly ejected' on Time Machine drive
I have an iMac with the M1 chip with up to date MacOS. I received this message every morning. The drive is a Seagate Backup Plus Portable 5T, 2R2APH-500 which I purchased in 4 years ago. It uses the older USB cable that is converted to the new USB3. It is plugged directly into the iMac. The Time Machine shows lots of backups but is very slow. The finder always shows that the drive is connected.
I am assuming that I should get a newer drive. Does anyone have opinions on this?
Thank you.
