Until you find your "friend" you are the proud owner of a useless phone you cannot use. Apple won't help you. We can't help you. Only the person the iPhone is locked to can unlock it. If she is a friend, surely you must have a way to get a hold of her.
When you can find her, give the phone back to her, so she can complete the process to allow you to use the phone, then return the phone to you. There are no shortcuts here.
If she cannot do this, the phone was not likely hers to give.
