No, it is not spam. Mine was for The Ohio State University football and men’s basketball calendars that were set in 2023. I verified by going to Calendar app, clicking on “Calendars” at bottom, and scrolling down to various calendars that I have. I clicked on information about each of the aforementioned calendars and checked the subscription details. It showed “www.stanza.co” and I unsubscribed both. It worked.

Started getting the stanza.co unverified certificate pop-up yesterday too. Totally freaked out thinking my phone had been hacked. Many thanks to whoever originally posted that it was a calendar issue. I have a variety of sports calendars, including the U.S. Men’s Soccer (USMNT) calendar. Looked at it this morning and sure enough, it was a stanza calendar. Unsubscribed to the calendar and the issue is resolved. Again, many thanks!

Just tried something. Went to Calendar Settings. Accounts. I have 3 WebDAV sports calendars. All Stanza. Selected calendar. Hit Edit. Changed Refresh to Every Year. So far, no more popups.

Not going to update as the year progresses; but I figure I can change it back to daily once in awhile, let it refresh (if it will) then reset to yearly. I, too, hope we’ll see another option down the road. If I get another pop up, I’ll update.

They seem to have the same issue every few years (this has happened at least twice in the past 15 years), this one looks like someone failed to double check the https certificate is valid before updating it, and that requires them to reissue it with the certificate name and input name matching not being different like it is right now.

The borked certificate was issued:

Monday, January 22, 2024 at 9:26:52 AM MST

Expires:

Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 11:20:25 AM MST

Stanza is used with a bunch of sports calendars maybe others also

stanza.co

Looks like it is Google owned cert as it is Google Trust Services LLC that issued the cert

One work around is to delete any calendar that has the subscription url from stanza or maybe even unchecking it might work, the fix will have to come from Google Trust Services LLC when they reissue the certificate.

Stanzacal.com is still a work in progress. If you want to keep your current calendars, here's my workaround: Went to Calendar. Settings. Accounts. Select webdav calendar (I have three). Select edit. Change Refresh to "every year."

Shortly after doing my workaround, I ended up getting the pop-up again. As a test, I completely closed the calendar app, then reopened. Since then, no popups. Hopefully, Stanza will be up and running soon; but until then, I still have my current calendars available.

It is not spam... it is a calendar subscription. Stanza.co use to have a big business providing game schedules for many professional sports teams and college teams. I have used them for years. It just started today. Doesn't look like they are supporting the calendars and changed their url suddenly. You need to delete the calendar subscription in your Apple calendar.

It's the Stanza.co calendar subscription links in your Apple Calendar. I have several that keep me up to date with my college sport teams and their game times/schedule every season and none of the links seem to be working any longer. I looked up Stanza.co and it seems like they are no longer supporting their calendars. So I have deleted all those calendar subscriptions and I no longer get the pop ups. I actually liked the calendar subscriptions... hopefully I will be able to find a good replacement.
