How to check for iPhone spyware?

There is no spyware on your phone. However, if you have a business or school email account on your phone the account administrator has control over many of the phone’s settings. Similarly, if you are under 18 and are part of a family sharing plan parental controls can manage many settings.

What specific settings are changing?

And, BTW, spyware that did anything obvious would be pretty stupid spyware!

It's something you specifically have to do in an effort to install unvetted third-party content onto your iPhone.

If you (or someone with access to your phone) haven't done it, it's nothing you need to worry about.
