can not print file from iphone to printer

You have already tried the following, correct?

Power off the iPhone

Power off the printer

Power off your Wi-Fi router

Wait a minute

Power up the Wi-Fi router and let it run for a minute

Power up the printer and let it run a minute

Power up the iPhone

Try to print

Unfortunately the answer is no.

There are threads all over the internet about this problem. Apple is just ignoring it.

There are all sorts of "solution" posts, but they are just click bait. I've tired them, and they don't work. Mostly it's just "turn everything off and back on, including your router"

Even people with dedicated apps for their printers can't print. This has been going on since last October.

Everyone keeps saying update your printer firmware. But my printer is so old I have no idea how to do that.

An interesting and important point, is that my MacBook prints just fine. So it's not the router, it's not the printer. It's IOS on my iPad and iPhone.

And again, this has been going on since October. I'd hoped the latest update would address it, but apples more interested in flashy new features that fixing bugs.

Maybe try getting a cable and try a hardware connection.

Or maybe try emailing the document to someone with a real computer.

or accessing your email on a computer at a public library.

Trust me I feel your pain. If it wasn't for my laptop I'd be screwed. It's tax time and I need to print out 1099 forms.

It's times like this that you need access to a different platform. Maybe consider a cheap laptop like a Chromebook.
