Driver FaceTime Camera Disabled on CarPlay

This makes no sense to me at all. When I connect to CarPlay, my FaceTime camera gets disabled. So the other side of the call (that is not driving) can NOT see me. At the same time the driver (that should be focusing on safe driving) can continue to see the other person on the FaveTime call. Why did Apple all of a sudden disable the drivers FaceTime camera and leave the the non-driver camera active during CarPlay? It’s not for safety. If Apple wanted to add a safety restriction they would have disabled the drivers incoming video instead of the outgoing video.
