Picture in Picture won’t minimize

When I FaceTime on my iPhone 15 Pro Max the picture I’m in will start off small but if I go from portrait to landscape or minimize then come back the picture that shows me takes up 1/4 of the screen and won’t go back to the smaller window. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?
