Lost detailed text after screen timed out
While repositioning my chair l lost my notes l was writing. Therefore how do l recover a long detailed text that was lost when my screen saver timed out ?

What device and what app are you having an issue with? You're in the iPhone forum, but you mentioned a screensaver which iPhones don't have. You also mention both notes and texts. Where you in Messages? Or Notes?
If you were using Messages on an iPhone, the message is gone. It is likely that iOS restarted the Messages app to reclaim some memory for something else. Messages is designed for writing short messages, not long documents. It has no drafts folder and no way to save something in progress. If you find yourself regularly writing long things, I'd suggest you do that in Notes and then share it back to messages (or copy and paste).
Sometimes, if you have done absolutely nothing else with the phone, you can shake to undo. My experience is that it works less often than it doesn't, though.
