AirPods Max not charging not resetting
Hello,
Yesterday my headphones got stuck in a strange state. They don't charge. I put them in the case, plug the cable, but there is no amber light. I've tried several cables, adapters and sockets - nothing works. To be sure, I double-checked every combination by charging other lightning-devices - the problem is not in cables/adapters.
Sometimes APM used to charge without light, but not this time. To make sure, I've plugged it to a power bank and observed power bank indicators - APM didn't use it. Once again: if I plug an iPhone, it charges from power bank, and the latter shows it.
One of solutions to APM not charging is to hard-reset it. But for some reason (low battery?) headphones refuse to reach this state. I hold crown and noice-cancellation-button. The amber LED flashes, but then, when white is supposed to flash, nothing happens. AirPods don't show up neither in Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac) nor in 3rd-party ones (SteamDeck, Lenovo laptop). It looks like the headphones can't start bluetooth pairing procedure for some reason. If I keep holding, nothing changes. Putting APM into the case and taking it out doesn't help too. Neither does trying to reset while trying to charge (while plugged in).
And guess what is a recommendation to perform a hard-reset? To charge the headphones for some minutes. Which means I'm stuck in a circle of bugs.
I've been experiencing problems with my APM for the last ~6 months. Headphones were getting lost after I take them done (not every time, but quite a lot), but resetting (holding crown+button until flashing amber) or re-pairing via hard-resetting (holding until flashing white) used to help.
By now I know How to reset your AirPods Max article by heart :)
Unfortunately, the cover has already expired, so replacing headphones in Apple Store isn't an option.
Has someone experienced that? How did you manage to solve the problem? Is there any solution deeper than hard-reset?
Thank you for your time, would really appreciate any help.
