I am texting on my phone with my phone number but it appears to others that i am texting with my email address

I texted someone last night and they noticed that I was not texting with my iPhone number, but with my email address, even though I am texting on my normal iPhone. I have had my iPhone for over a year and this has never happened. any one know how to help?

Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive>Start New Conversations From and make sure the check mark is next to your phone number.

try resetting network settings, and check for updates to phone. if not give feedback to apple.
