Youtube subtitles not turning on automatically even with the SDH accessibility setting turned on

I had this issue for couple months and now I finally bothered to address it. The closed captioning is not automatically turning on on YouTube Shorts and YouTube videos. I turned on the closed captioning + SDH setting in the accessibility of the settings app however that does not fix the issue.

Closed Captioning / SDH won’t turn off after app update Hi, I turned my LG TV on today and Apple TV app asked me a couple questions about something then went away, presume it had done an update as now when I try to watch any programme, they all have what looks like subtitles at the bottom. I have gone in and turned those off however the ‘Closed Captions & SDH’ is stuck at ON and greyed out - it shows ‘to disable closed captioning, change the setting on your device’ I don’t seem to have closed captioning setting on my tv, only subtitles which are turned off in the tv settings Thoroughly stumped! And fed up tbh as it’s now taken an hour of precious sofá time after a long work day and the text on the screen is irritating Any ideas please ? Thank you
