No cellular network after updating to iOS 17.3

Hi everyone,

I'd like to know if someone else is facing the same issue as me.

Last night my iPhone 12 was updated form 17.2 to 17.3.

Since that moment, I have no cellular network connectivity, but I do have WiFi.

I've tried:

  • Rebooted the phone - Same behaviour
  • Removed SIM card and tried again - Same behaviour
  • Reset Network settings - Same behaviour
  • Tried to set manual Network Selection instead of Automatic - Does not work. Actually, it does not disable the automatic selection completely, stays like it's being disabled but does not disable it completely (seems so)
  • Tried to set and unset Airplane mode, Cellullar, change to 4G only, 5G only... - Same behaviour

I don't want to reset the phone because of this (becuase if it's an update issue, this won't solve it)

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

PS: I've also checked the network provider, it does not seem to have an issue with the network, I've also tried in different locations around my city

I'd like to write here my findings, in case it helps.

After all the attempts I mentioned before (even trying my SIM card in a different phone to verify it was not my SIM card), I tried downgrading to 17.2.1 (did a backup before as well as the one in iCloud, as it'll reset the phone to factory settings), which I did successfully and I saw that I got my cellular network back!

But during the installation/configuration process, it "asked" me to update (it forced me to update to 17.3, there was no other option to continue), so I had to update it.

But surprisingly, now I'm running 17.3 and cellular network is working! So at this point, I have no idea why this was not working before.

Yes, seems so! Actually, I did not use the factory reset option, I loaded the iOS17.2.1 FW via my Mac following the procedure from the IPSW webpage.

But then I had to update to 17.3 as I mentioned.

But yes, I guess that doing the factory reset form iPhone or the Restore iPhone from Mac should give the same solution.

Maybe the issue was that the first update was not properly done? Who knows...
