PHOTO DROP
Once I airdrop photos from my iphone 8 to my MacBook air, am I able to delete the photos off my phone without loosing them on my MacBook Air?

Once you AirDrop the photo from your iPhone, you can remove it and it will remain on your MacBook. I'm assuming you are not using iCloud Photos on both devices using the same Apple ID, otherwise you would already have the photo on your Mac and not need to AirDrop it.
