2008 MacBook password recovery

I recently found my old high school macbook from 2008 at my parents house. I want to do a factory reset, but cant remember my passwords from back then. Is there a way to recover this? command + R doesnt work

No, Internet Recovery isn't an option on those older Macs. You will need its original, grey, System Install DVD to reset its password. It, and the Applications Install DVD were included with it when it was sold. Those two discs must accompany that Mac from cradle to grave.


You found the Mac, now find those discs.
