Can't hear anything in garageband when dragging the playhead

I use the latest version of Garageband (10.4.10) on my MacBook Pro using the latest MacOS Sonoma 14.2.1.

I have imported an mp3 song.

When I stop the song and drag the playhead (or scrubbing if that's what it's called) to the left or right, I can't hear anything. This means I cannot drag the playhead to a specific point in the song and hear where I'm at. Let's say I want to cut the song at a specific point to split it.

GarageBand audio duplicating and repeating after recording is stopped Create new track (opt/cmd/N), record - audio track appears normal as it records, hit spacebar to stop and audio file duplicates itself after the play head. This is a new problem on previously fully functioning project. I can still record but have to select/delete the duplicate files after. Have uninstalled and re-installed GB a few times but this has not resolved the problem. Can anyone help? Thanks. Martin

The equalizer for specific song is not working on Apple Music There is a feature in Apple Music that allows you to apply individual equalizer and volume adjustments for each song. (Link: Adjust the sound quality in Music on Mac - Apple Support) I am currently using Apple Music on an M2 MacBook. However, the individual equalizer presets are not working. Here are the attempts I have made to resolve the issue: Disabled Sound Enhancer and Normalizer. Changed the options for the directory where the songs are downloaded. Enabled the global equalizer. I have also attempted to try similar answers discussed in the community, but the individual equalizer still doesn't work. Are there any specific conditions under which the individual equalizer works?
