Can't split keyboard on iPad

I have an ipad pro 3rd generation and want to split my keyboard because I am miss-typing too much. When I hold the bottom right key on the keyboard, the only option I get is ‘Floating’.

any advice appreciated

Split Keyboard is only available for these models of iPad:


  • iPad mini (5th generation and later)
  • iPad (5th generation to 9th generation)
  • iPad Air (3rd generation)
  • iPad Pro 9.7-inch
  • iPad Pro 10.5-inch


You will note that Split Keyboard is not available for any iPad model with a screen of 11" or greater. This limitation is documented here:

If you would like Apple to consider adding Split Keyboard for larger screen sizes, submission of comments and feature requests are invited via Apple's Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:
