How to set Outlook Web as a Mac’s default Mail client?

My friend uses Safari on his iMac to access his email on outlook.com. He does not want to use Apple’s Mail app or have the Outlook.app installed on his computer. But he would like to share web page links viewed in Safari via Outlook Web. Using Mail > Preferences, he tried to change the default email reader to Outlook Web, but there does not seem to be a way to specify a web-based email as the default - only an installed email app such as Mail.app or Outlook.app. Is there some way to set a web-based email as the default mail client?

Thanks, Will

The user would need Safari open to the webpage they what to Share.

In the address bar of Safari and highlife the Full URL

Use the Command key and c ( Copy )

This will place the Full URL on the Clipboard

Have another Tab open in Safari while Logged into Outlook.com

Commence the composition of the new e-mail

Place the curser in the correct location of the e-mail

command v

Ok, thanks. While searching the web, I found instructions stating one could change the default email reader in Mail > Preferences by selecting: "Outlook Office 365 (web)." That value does not appear on my Mac, and the instructions did not explain how to get that value to appear in the pull-down list.
