Thanks for the additional information, velecia208. I looked up both apps on my iPhone. And just in case it makes a difference, I am in the US. But here is what I found:
- Flo - The description in the App Store does state that a subscription must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the end date. That is probably why Apple did not offer a refund because you cancelled after the end date. Immediately after, but still after.
- As for Linkin - that app offers in-app purchases and also a premium plan. Both will cost you. But as long as you did not activate Premium or make any in app purchases, I do not see a free trial (or cost afterwards) for the regular version of that app.
I am just another Apple user. Unfortunately, that's all I can offer. I'm sorry this happened to you but happy you cancelled both to avoid any future costs. In case it helps in the future, here is a trick I learned (may I say the hard way) to avoid paying for free trials. Once I activate a free trial, I immediately create a calendar event for two days before the expiration date. I set an alert so my iPhone will actually send me a notification. That gives me enough time to decide if I want to keep it or not. If not, I cancel the subscription.
