Charging cable does not get connected to iPhone

I need to plug in and plug out like 10 times to get the charging started in my iPhone 13. Is it possible the charging slot of iPhone would have damaged?

iPhone 13, iOS 17

Possibilities:

  • The cable connectors are worn down and not making good contact at either the power adapter or phone
  • The port on the power adapter is worn down and not making good contact
  • The port on the phone is worn down and not making good contact

Suggestions

  • Replace the cable, especially if it is more than a year old to see if that will fix the issue
  • If not, replace the power adapter
  • Last, take the phone in to have the port checked by an authorized Apple service shop
