I can not add my card on my manage payments in settings. What is the problem

When I tap “add payment method” to add my card it says “there is an issue with your payment method. Update your payment information to correct problem and try again.” But everything I typed in correctly also went over it 5 times. This is very irritating. What’s the problem?
