Dual Sim not switching between lines again

I have an Iphone 14 Pro Max updated to IOS 17.3.

I recently switched carriers and although that should have nothing to do with the issue, just thought I'd mention it.

I have dual esims that I use. One for a business line one for personal. I can set a default line (doesn't matter which one I use as I've done both). I went through EVERY SINGLE CONTACT and assigned a line to that person. Whenever I try to make a call or text, the phone reverts to whichever line I have set as default in settings. Doesn't matter what the "contact" says. Doesn't matter if I change the number before I call or text

(example: pull up a person to text either in messages are OR from contact change the number or make sure they are on the right line) it changes the number to the default settings line. I can repeat this process changing the default line (say business) and change it to personal. If I need to reach out to a client and I make sure I have business checked in the contact it reverts to personal. I know this has been an issue for a while. I did have it fixed after a call with apple one time but now it is doing it all again. Defeats the purpose of two lines. PLEASE does anyone have a fix for this? TIA.


Pictures below show line starting at personal but in the text you can see it changed to business. I even went in to change it back to personal and text again and it still reverted BACK to business
