ICloud Photo Backup
If my photos are backed up elsewhere do I need to backup my photos on iCloud?

iCloud does not back up your photos, it serves to synchronize photos between all of your devices. You should, regardless of your choice, keep backups of your data. Generally 3 copies, made 2 ways, with 1 copy kept offsite.
