Problem with sending live photo (as .gif) in Whatsapp - black borders appear on two sides

Phone: new iPhone 15 Pro.

Sending a live photo (as .gif) in Whatsapp transforms the .gif: a black bar/border appears on the left and below the picture. If it's a landscape video the black bar appears on the right and below the picture. The problem does not exist when sending an image / video instead of a .gif. Changing the aspect ratio to something else than 3:4 / Original before sending it also solves the issue. It doesn't matter if the live photo I send was created with the iPhone or the older model (iPhone 13 Pro).

I tried restarting the iPhone and did a full reinstall of Whatsapp.

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17
