Removing Apple Pay as a payment option from apps
Is it accurate that you have to follow below steps (found in a locked, outdated thread) to ensure deletion of the Apple Pay-option from Uber?
_____
1. Delete all the credit/debt cards you have on Apple Pay.
2. SIGN OUT OF YOUR UBER ACCOUNT (This is important; if you don’t sign out, the app will not recognize that Apple Pay is no longer a payment option on your phone.)
3. Delete the Uber app on your phone.
4. After you delete, re-download the Uber app.
5. After the download is complete, sign into your Uber app and the Apple Pay-option in the Payments-tab should not be an option anymore.

This also doesn’t mention what happens when/if I add back my cards. The “should” language is worrisome, lol.
For all of the “ease-of-use” UX/UI Apple’s implemented over the years, this seems quite ridiculous and extensive for a user to do to have control of something as important as their finances/cards. (And it’s frustrating, because Uber isn’t using my primary Wallet card either. It’s the only app I have issues with.)
Why wouldn’t Apple add a section under Settings > [Apps] where I can toggle “Use Wallet” on/off? Or even under Wallet—add “Apps using Wallet”, and again allow me to toggle on/off?
I’m not naive, I understand this is something Uber controls as well, but the fact that it’s both Apple hardware and software intertwined with the app, I believe they’re somewhat responsible as well. (Without me having to go through the above, extensive steps.)
Just some food for thought.
