I hide a photo, but it is visible when I SMS and want to attach a picture - how can this be?

I hide a phot in the hidden album that can only be accessed with a passcode, or in my case, Face ID. I was shocked to see this supposedly hidden photo when trying to attach photos to an SMS. What did I do wrong - Apple can’t be this stupid, or are they?

I was wrong - you are correct. User error - multiple of same photo. Hide again, now hidden. My bad and thanks for your patience and feedback

Thanks for clearing this up and most users are here to help users resolve problems. This should always be done in a civil manner by sticking with the issue at hand and it is really unnecessary for comments like "Apple can’t be this stupid, or are they?".

Again, thank you for the clarification. We all make mistakes and that does include Apple, but we genuinely want to help others without calling any party stupid.

Just checked as well and the Hidden photo is not available when attaching a photo to a message without unlocking first. Maybe you have a duplicate photo and you are hiding just one of them. None of my hidden photos appear and to attach them in a Message I need to select them from the Hidden Album after verification.

Maybe try some more troubleshooting by taking a new picture with your camera and hide that one to see if it is available without looking directly at the screen to unhide the photo.

Thank you for responding. I have been using iPhones from literally the first day they became available back in ‘07 or ‘08 - can’t remember to be honest. That being said, I use the three dots to hide, and then in fact select hide, and I have never noticed what I did today. The photo disappears from my library, but when I went to send a text message, and wanted to attach a photo, it was still showing! I have since looked up the issue, and it has been around as long as there have been iPhones. I am shocked - and very disappointed. I have been a loyal customer for all of iPads, iPhones and computers, but the fact that they have not addressed this issue years before, as I now see that a lot of people have complained before - I am not sure that I can continue to support them and buy their products. Very disappointing.

Because your phone has a glitch, you don't want to continue to use Apple Products? Without even doing any troubleshooting? I won't waste your time with suggestions on how to do so.

Best of luck.
