How do I turn off Touch ID?

Touch Id works only about 10% of the time and I have to type my password. Can I just skip the Touch Id?

To turn it off, go to Apple menu > System Settings > Touch ID & Password.

It should work. It works well on my iMac 24". Note that it is designed not to work on first login after startup/restart.

Before turning it off you may want to try removing your fingerprint and adding it again to see if that helps. That can be done in the same System Setting as shown above.
