Curious about this - does it work in 'cleaning' files, etc on Mac? Mac Catalina 10.15.7

You don't need a "cleaner" app on the Mac.
MacOS can take care of itself if kept updated and your computer restarted maybe once a week or so.
Cleaner app, anti-virus apps, optimizers and VPN software will very often conflict with the proper operation of a Mac. That's one of the reasons you are always advised to turn these app off when upgrading the OS or installing software.
Apps of this type tend to create more trouble than they claim to fix or prevent. Cleaner apps, in particular, very often indiscriminately remove files they deem unnecessary but are important to the proper function of other apps, like the Photos app, for example.
Just don't.
