Hi,
Is your AppleCare+ agreement linked to your Apple ID for monthly billing with Apple?
To check if it is, go to Settings on your iPhone > tap on your name at the top > tap Subscriptions > you should see your AppleCare+ plan listed here.
If the plan isn’t listed in Subscription settings:
You may need to link it to your Apple ID to complete the payment setup. It’s important to note that if the plan is not yet linked, it will only bill to the payment method you originally used to purchase the plan; regardless if you have updated your payment info on your Apple ID already.
Once linked, it will bill to the primary payment method you have on file with your Apple ID.
Use https://mysupport.apple.com/link to link the plan to your Apple ID.
If the plan is listed in Subscription settings:
If it’s listed and you still got the ‘billing problem’ email advising there’s an issue with your payment method, try to then go to Settings on your iPhone > tap on your name at the top > tap on Payment and Shipping. This will show you your payment information stored for purchases on your Apple ID.
The first one listed will be considered the primary payment, and thus billed first for all purchases made on your Apple ID, including your AppleCare+ plan.
If you see anything in red underneath your card, such as “failed” or “verify”, tap on your card, reconfirm your card information (expiration month and four digit year of the card, the CVV code, and the correct billing address), and then tap done or save in the upper right-hand corner.
If you’ve reconfirmed everything is correct and your AppleCare+ plan still hasn’t renewed after 24 hours, I would recommend contacting Apple Support.
IMPORTANT:
This may not apply to you if you purchased an AppleCare+ plan through a third-party, such as Best Buy. If this is the case, updating your payment information on your Apple ID will not resolve or assist with any billing issues. To resolve this, since the plan is not billed through Apple directly, you would have to update your payment information on file with the third-party.
Using Best Buy as an example, you would have to update your payment information on your Best Buy account online, on the app, or with customer support. To reach out to Best Buy, contact 1-800-433-5778. Use AppleCare+ FAQs for additional information on how to manage this specific agreement type, if it applies to you.
hope this helps.
