screen not working when I tap on it, what do I need to connect to control device?

If the screen isn’t working and needs to be repaired or replaced there isn’t anything you can connect to it to control it. Have it inspected by Apple or an authorized repair facility to find out your options

I've tried it with two macBooks. The older macBook running Big Sur showed the Finder window with the Restore iPad button but clicking it had no effect. I tried putting the iPad into recovery mode multiple times and let it sit for a very long time. I tried reconnecting both ends of the cable and with a second Lightning cable. The second macBook with the latest version of Ventura wouldn't recognize the iPad at all, it wasn't listed in the Finder window. I had to use a USB-C dongle with this one and I know the dongle is functioning correctly. I've googled the issue and read all the suggestions offered on various sites but none seem to address this specific issue.

iPad Air 5 Stuck in Recovery Mode Loop I checked my iPad in the morning and saw the recovery screen. I tried to restore it using the Apple Devices app and 3uTools on my Windows laptop with the original cable from the box because the button method didn’t work (my buttons weren’t responding). However, it keeps showing the restore screen again and again even after a successful restoration message. Do you think there’s a problem with my hardware?

Ipad asking me to use my phone to start recovery mode After I attempted to restart my iPad, it asked me to connect to my Mac, which I didn't do because I didn't what was going on and thought it was an error or virus. To deal with it, I attempted to restart my Ipad again. However, this time, my iPad played an animation asking me to place my phone on the bottom of my iPad screen. Out of desperation, I followed its instructions. My phone prompted me to put my iPad into recovery mode, which I did. After some research, most information I found on recovery mode indicated that it's usually done with a Mac but never an iPhone. I was just wondering if this was a new feature introduced by apple or if I should be concerned about malware (I'm probably overthinking but I just want to be sure). I'm currently using an iPad Air (5th Gen) and an iPhone 13.

The screen has failed.

Take the phone to the Apple Store or an authorized Apple Service shop.
