The Asus supplied cables "very by region" and the similar looking connector to HDMI is most likely DisplayPort.

Plus most display manufactures including Asus, supply cheap and/or useless cables that need to be replaced with high quality USB-C to DisplayPort cables or premium certified HDMI cables.

If you want to use the Asus's DisplayPort input, then you will need an USB-C to DisplayPort 8K cable.
