Can't delete file in trash of my MacBook Air

This folder has been sitting in my trash for weeks because I'm not able to delete it. The folder has 2 folders inside of it, both of which also can't be deleted. I've checked the Sharing Permissions a hundred times, and the folders aren't locked, but these pop-ups still show up.

Unable to delete empty folder in the trash on Mac Pro I've had a file leftover from past operating systems that refuses to delete from the trash. The file is named Delete and it has the following folders within it. When choosing "Delete Immediately" I get the following dialog box. I input my password, then click OK. I then get this: I have checked the permissions on all four folders via File Info. Three of them showed Read & Write including the Library folder that is grayed out in the first screenshot. Can't delete folder - Says it's in use but isn't? I have a ToonBoom Harmony Project folder that I've been trying to delete but I can't. My Mac says it's in use and lists items that no longer exist on this Mac (according to Finder?), saying each item listed is in use. However, when I checked the folders in the Terminal to see what's using the folders/items, it states 'no such file or directory' My Macbook Pro is up-to-date and nothing really seems out of the ordinary. I've tried: Trying to delete through safe mode Repairing Home Permissions through Recovery mode and Reinstalling MacOSX Checking if the folder is locked/if permissions weren't granted Restarting and shutting down Mac Force quitting running apps Please help!

Why does my deleted folder keep reappearing on my MacBook Air? I keep getting this folder with a weird folder name back into my trash every time I delete it. Whenever I delete it, I can also see the iCloud sync status updating on the sidebar. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Try emptying the Trash while holding the Option key.

Also try booting into Safe Mode to see if you can empty the Trash.

Otherwise you may need to dig down into Trash and "Get Info" on those items to see if "Locked" is check like it mentions in the error message in your screenshots.

Try rebooting the computer, then try to empty the Trash again.

I've done that several times and nothing changes.
