how to make a recovery flash drive from one computer to install os on a different computer

I have 2 of the same computers. 1 starts ,1 does not and cannot complete re-install no matter what. hoping to make a recovery disk (flash drive) from working machine to reinstall onto non starting machine

Using your existing running MacOS as a source is only possible (and not easy) with Macs older than 2018 models.


You are more likely to have success using the working computer to make a Bootable USB-stick installer based on an NEW downloaded image from Apple.


You can also use the Built-in Recovery Base System to download and install a new copy of MacOS.
